With a last name like Stewart it’s hard to not know my family heritage, but I’ve honestly been confused about it some times. My grandmother used to always say she was Scotch-Irish, but then I’d hear dad talking about the Scottish games and the Stewart Clan. So am I Scottish or Irish. I’m definitely drawn to both but who do I belong to? I must say I’ve been quite frustrated in the past. Finally I just asked my parents so I could know for certain where my roots are. Apparently I am Scotch-Irish just as my grandmother used to say. So I can wear my Ireland shirt with pride and attend the Irish games and feel just as much a part of them as the Scottish games. Of course when the Stewart Clan marches in at the parade of Scottish Clans I get a bit misty eyed. My heart must be tied to Scotland.
This year I wasn’t able to attend all of the Highland Games because I had a wedding to photograph that morning. After a day of shooting my friend, Grace, and I headed to the fair grounds to join my parents for the festivities. Here are some pics from your time out there. Enjoy!
