Meet the Girardis

This past Sunday I met up with my dear friend, JoHanna, and her beautiful family.  JoHanna and I have known each other for, let me see, twenty some odd years.  We went to church and school together for part of our lives and then I headed to Alaska for college and she made her way to Tallahassee to get her degree. Now we’ve both landed back here in the our home town of Jacksonville, Florida.  We don’t see each other too often but when we do we seem to pick up right where we left off.  She’s one of those friends that you know will be around until the end no matter where life takes either of you.

JoHanna and Ed’s wedding was actually the first wedding I ever photographed.  I’m still amazed that they even asked me.  I hadn’t even considered making photography a career.  Who would have known that they would help me get my start in the business.  THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!  I can’t believe how far I’ve come since that day almost 5 years ago.  So, once again I was honored to photograph JoHanna and Ed and now their two adorable boys.  We met at our downtown library where their family likes to hang out.  I love that JoHanna picked a place that would be sentimental to them.  Great choice, JoHanna!  Little Lucas was all over the place, just like all little boys his age.  We ran from books, to owls, to Christmas trees, to fountains. I love chasing these little munchkins around capturing who they are at this time in their lives.  And of course little, baby Augustine was a little angel.

Thanks again, JoHanna, for allowing me document another special time in your life.  I love you and many blessings.

Please enjoy a few of my faves from the session.

  • Oh my gosh, how sweet! Love the profile of JoHanna & Lucas & the sepia tone of Ed & Augustin. What beautiful shots of one of my favorite families.

  • Hi Meghan! We’ve met once or twice…I grew up across the street from the Gaillards. JoHanna and I have connected through our children (thanks to Hannah) and she forwarded this to me. I just happen to have two little ones that may need your loving touch on some long overdue proffesional shots. I’ve stayed far away from the JC Penney studios (if you know what I mean). I just love your very personal touch and artistic eye. I will forward your business website on and be keeping you in mind for myself as well!
