After our lovely, relaxing stay in Cafayate we made our way back to the city of Salta. The last week we were there we spent a lot of time with the young adults. I was amazed at how much of myself I saw in them. They were so hungry for more of the reality of God, but seemed lost as to how to get there. Boy, have I felt that way before and many times still do.
One night that we hung out with these awesome young adults stands out in my mind. We had all gathered around Alfredo and Marisa’s dinning table for fun, food, and fellowship. Mind you, it was probably about 11:00 p.m. when we gathered. After we ate and laughed we got down to business. Quentin asked me to share my testimony, which up until recently I hadn’t thought I had a “good” one to share. I was brought up in a Christian home and have always been a “good” girl. My life was going along as normal, or what I thought to be normal, until God really met me at a conference I was at. He rocked my world. Life has been different and way better ever since then. So, I shared my testimony with these guys because I felt like they would relate to it and encourage them since we seemed to have had a similar upbringing. Then Sandy took over. She asked them to share about their God encounters. It was so awesome to hear from them how God had moved in their lives, and many of the encounters were recent. Sometimes it’s good to share with others what God has done in our lives so we can more clearly see that He is there and loves us. We’ve also discovered that it’s a good practice to share with people the good things we see in them and to call them forth. So, basically this is what we did with these young adults, encouraged them that they are in great places and big things are about to happen. We’ve alread heard of some great things happening with them since we left. YAY!!!!
